NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 1

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10, section 1 of the Environment Act 1995 that an application has been made to the Environment Agency, by Hanson Quarry Products Europe Limited to discharge a maximum of 5,000 cubic metres per day of trade effluent comprising site run-off discharged from Montcliffe Quarry, Georges Lane, Horwich, via Settlement Lagoons to a tributary of Pearl Brook at National Grid Reference SD 6588 1206. Any person wishing to make representations about the application should do so in writing to M. Noblett, Authorisations Officer, The Environment Agency, PO Box 519, South Preston PR5 8RD, not later than 30th April 1999, quoting Ref. C/6/P/99. A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the Environment Agency, Lutra House, Dodd Way, Walton Summit, Bamber Bridge, Preston PR5 8BX, at all reasonable hours. M.
