PROPOSED MINOR AMENDMENTS TO THE BATTERSEA PARK AREA CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth propose to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, The Wandsworth (Battersea Park Area) (Parking Places) (No. ) Order 199 ; and The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment No. ) Order 199 . The general effect of the Parking Places Order would be, within the Battersea Park Area controlled zone, to change some meter parking places and a permit holder parking place to 4 hour shared use parking places, convert shared use parking places to disabled persons parking places and amend permit holder and shared use parking places adjacent to motorcycle bays to allow the construction of kerb build outs, as follows: (a) one hour metered parking places in Alexandra Avenue and Beechmore Road would be changed to 4 hour shared use parking places; (b) a permit holders parking place in Alexandra Avenue would be changed to a 4 hour shared use parking place; (c) a permit holders parking place would be reduced in length to allow the construction of kerb build outs in Cambridge Road; (d) shared use parking places would be reduced in length to allow the construction of kerb build outs in Lurline Gardens, Prince of Wales Drive, opposite Cyril Mansions and Macduff Road and in Warriner Gardens, near Beechmore Road; and (e) parts of shared use parking places in Albert Bridge Road (opposite Jagger House) and Prince of Wales Drive (opposite the junctions with Beechmore Road and Macduff Road) would be converted to disabled persons parking places. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be to lengthen solo motorcycle bays in Cambridge Road and Lurline Gardens. Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders, including the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, are available for inspection during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays in The Concourse, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU. The documents will remain available until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made.
