NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS TO VARY LICENCES AND FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Sears Bros. Ltd., of Lynford House Farm, Fodder Fen, Manea, March, Cambridgeshire PE15 0HH, are applying to the Environment Agency as follows: (i) To vary licence serial no. 6/33/52/S/32 for the abstraction of water from drains of the Manea and Welney Internal Drainage Board; the Upwell Internal Drainage Board and the Wimblington Combined Internal Drainage Board, at Rookery Farm, Wimblington; at Lynford House Farm; at Cranmoor Lots Farm; land north of Bottom Farm; at Fodder Fen Common; at The Dams; land at Cow Common; at Wateringhill Farm; land adjacent to Rutland Farm and land south-west of The Dams all at Manea, Cambridgeshire. (ii) To vary licence serial no. 6/33/52/S/175 for the abstraction of water from a drain at National Grid Reference TL 489 931 to fill a reservoir at Manea, Cambridgeshire, and for subsequent reabstraction from drains of the Manea and Welney Internal Drainage Board. The proposal is to add to both the above licences; land at Windmill House Farm, Manea, March, Cambridgeshire, with no increase in the respective licensed quantities and periods of abstraction. The water is for spray irrigation purposes. (iii) For a licence to abstract water from the Sixteen Foot Drain between National Grid References TL 4584 9320 and TL 4600 9347 to fill a reservoir at Rookery Farm, Wimblington, Cambridgeshire. The proposal is to abstract water between 1st November each year and 31st March the following year at rates not exceeding 130 cubic metres per hour, 3,120 cubic metres per day and 80,000 cubic metres per year for winter storage and direct spray irrigation. Also to transfer water from the reservoir to a drain at National Grid Reference TL 4735 9246 for subsequent reabstraction from drains and private dykes of the Manea and Welney Internal Drainage Board at Wateringhill Farm; Lynford House Farm; Windmill House Farm; Cranmore Lots Farm; Fodder Fen Common; Cow Common; The Dams; land north-west of Elm Grove Farm; land north of Bottom Farm; land adjacent to Rutland Farm; land south-west of The Dams all at Manea, March, Cambridgeshire, at rates not exceeding 160 cubic metres per hour, 2,880 cubic metres per day and 72,000 cubic metres per year. The water is for spray irrigation purposes between 1st April and 31st October each year following compensatory discharges from the reservoir. A copy of the applications and any maps, plans or other documents submitted may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Lynford House Farm, Fodder Fen, Manea, Cambridgeshire, between 19th March 1999 and 16th April 1999.
