AMENDMENT TO WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS IN CORNHILL/FENCHURCH STREET/LEADENHALL STREET

Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of London, on 12th March 1999, made the City of London (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) (Amendment No. 21) Order 1999, under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. 2. The effect of the Order will be to further amend the City of London (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Area) Order 1994, so that the hours during which the prohibition on waiting by vehicles: (a) (otherwise than for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle) applies will be changed so that such prohibition will apply between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive and between 6.30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sundays in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; (b) for the purpose of delivering or collecting goods or loading or unloading a vehicle applies will be changed so that such prohibition will apply between: (i) 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in the lengths of street specified in Schedule 2 to this notice; (ii) between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive in the lengths of streets specified in Schedule 3 to this notice. (The Order also contains a drafting amendment which does not affect the existing restrictions). 3. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 22nd March 1999, of the above-mentioned Order of 1994 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) and of a plan showing the affected streets, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, in the City Secretary’s Department, The Guildhall, London EC2P 2EJ. 4. Copies of the Order may be obtained from the Department of Technical Services, Guildhall, London EC2P 2EJ. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. Fenchurch Street, between a point 9 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Northumberland Alley and a point 33.5 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Gracechurch Street. Schedule 2 Fenchurch Street, between its junction with Aldgate and a point 9 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Northumberland Alley. Leadenhall Street: between its junction with Aldgate and Fenchurch Street and a point 58 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Creechurch Lane. Schedule 3 Cornhill, between a point 40 metres west of the western kerb-lines of Bishopsgate and Gracechurch Street and a point 8 metres east of the east side of Pope’s Head Alley. Fenchurch Street: (i) between the western kerb-line of Lime Street and a point 33.5 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Gracechurch Street. (ii) between the eastern kerb-line of Mincing Lane and the western kerb-line of Billiter Street. Leadenhall Street, between a point 58 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Creechurch Lane and a point 27 metres east of the eastern kerb-line of Creechurch Lane. 15th March 1999.
