COCKFOSTERS ROAD—30 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Enfield on 8th March 1999, made the Enfield (Speed Limit) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1999, under sections 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. The general effect of the Order will be to: (a) revoke the 40 miles per hour speed limit imposed by the Enfield (Speed Limit) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1996, on the length Cockfosters Road and Ferny Hill specified in the Schedule to this notice; (b) impose a maximum speed limit of 30 miles per hour on the length of Cockfosters Road and Ferny Hill referred to in sub-paragraph (a) above. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 29th March 1999, of a map indicating the location and effect of the Order, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of the Enfield (Speed Limit) (No. 1) Treffic Order 1996, can be inspected at the Reception Desk, “B” Block, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made. Copies of the Order may be obtained from Traffic Engineering, the Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 3XD. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. Change of Speed Limit from 40 m.p.h. to 30 m.p.h. Cockfosters Road, from a point 50 feet north-west of the common boundary of Nos. 413 and 415 Cockfosters Road, to a point 150 feet north-west of its junction with Wagon Road. Ferny Hill, from a point 35 feet south-east of the south-eastern wall of “Lodge B” West Lodge Park Hotel, Ferny Hill, to its junction with Cockfosters Road to the north-east and south-east side of the island site at that junction. 8th March 1999.
