PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE BATTERSEA PARK AREA CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Wandsworth propose to make the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985: The Wandsworth (Battersea Park Area) (Parking Places) (Amendment No.  ) Order 199 ; and The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment No.  ) Order 199 . The general effect of the Parking Places Order would be, within the Battersea Park Area controlled zone, to change the hours of operation of the zone and the charges as follows: The hours of operation of the parking places in the entire zone would be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays to Sundays, that is seven days a week, including Bank Holidays. At present the hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and the controls do not operate on Bank Holidays. On Sundays and Bank Holidays, the charge in the ticket metered parking places (pay and display) will be £1 per day. On other days the charge will remain at 60 pence per hour. The general effect of the Waiting and Loading Restriction Order would be to amend the waiting restrictions in the roads included in the controlled zone to operate between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays to Sundays except where it is necessary to maintain longer hours for safety reasons. Copies of documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposed Orders, including the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders, are available for inspection, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays, in The Concourse, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU. The documents will remain available until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made. Further information may be obtained from the Borough Engineer’s Service (telephone 0181-871 6673) or the Administration Department (telephone 0181-871 7520). Any person wishing to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to the Chief Executive and Director of Administration, Room 153, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU (quoting Ref.
