Notice is hereby given that the Common Council of the City of London on 5th March 1999, made the above-mentioned Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as modified by section 10(2) of that Act. The general effect of the Orders will be to continue indefinitely Red Route controls on the streets and lengths of streets contained in the Orders. The controls will include: (a) Double red lines controls prohibiting stopping at any time at locations where stationary vehicles cause danger or congestion at any time; (b) Single red line controls prohibiting stopping at any time during the working day at locations where stationary vehicles cause danger or congestion during busy day time periods; (c) Boxes marked on the carriageway where demand exists for loading/unloading and at locations and times where stationary vehicles do not cause congestion or danger; (d) Exemptions to the Red Route controls will be few but do allow for boarding or alighting from buses, taxis and disabled passengers from vehicles displaying a disabled persons badge; (e) Vehicles displaying a disabled persons badge will be able to park in loading boxes for up to 3 hours; (f) With flow bus lanes in Bishopsgate and London Bridge/King William Street. A copy of each of the Orders which will come into operation on 15th March 1999, and of plans showing the affected streets can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the end of 6 weeks from that date on which the Orders were made, in The City Secretary’s Department, Guildhall, London EC2P 2EJ. Copies of the Orders may be obtained from the Department of Technical Services, Guildhall, London EC2P 2EJ. Any person desiring to question the validity of any of the Orders, or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof, or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to any of the Orders may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make applicatioin for the purpose to the High Court.
