FOOTPATH/CYCLEWAY WITHIN THE TESCO STORE SITE OFF ST. PETER’S DRIVE, WORCESTER

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of a length of footpath/cycleway within the Tesco Store Site, off St. Peter’s Drive, Worcester. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted by Worcester City Council on 30th October 1998 under Ref. P96K0362. The proposed Order will require the provision of a new footpath/cycleway measuring a minimum of 3 metres in width and maintainable at the public expense for which Worcestershire County Council will be the local highway authority. The proposed Order will provide that the stopping-up must not be carried out until the developer has provided a new footpath/cycleway and that footpath/cycleway shall be maintainable at the public expense for which Worcestershire County Council will be the local highway authority. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 5th March 1999 at the offices of Worcester City Council, City Solicitor and Secretary Department, Guildhall, High Street, Worcester WR1 2EY, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the West Midlands (quoting Ref. 5058/35/1/36) at the address stated below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 5th March 1999 by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above reference, at the Government Office for the West Midlands, Planning, Transport and Environment, 77 Paradise Circus, Queensway, Birmingham B1 2DT.
