DIVERSION AND STOPPING-UP OF HIGHWAY

Notice is hereby given that the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, the Highway Authority, intends to apply to the Magistrates Court sitting at Fairfield Way, Neath, on Monday, 12th April 1999, at 2.15 p.m., for an Order that the footpath over the Red Bridge at Ystalyfera, being the footpath identified at Route 1 of Modification Order No. 118, 1996, the situation of which is shown coloured red on a plan which may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the main reception desks in the Civic Centres at Neath, Port Talbot and Penllergaer and the area housing office at Pontardawe. That section of the existing highway (shown between the points marked A and B on the plan) which commences on the A4067 carriageway some 150 metres or thereabouts south-west of the carriageway roundabout and proceeds over the Red Bridge, in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 75 metres or thereabouts, to its junction with the footpath identified as Route 3 of Modification Order No. 118, 1996, (which said Route 3 is shown coloured green on the plan) shall be diverted by substituting the proposed diverted highway (which is shown coloured blue on the plan and which commences at the carriageway roundabout and proceeds in a generally southerly direction across the cycle track bridge for a distance of 105 metres or thereabouts and from there in a generally south-westerly direction for a distance of 85 metres or thereabouts to the junction of Route 1 and Route 3) for the aforesaid section of the existing highway whereupon that section of the existing highway shall be stopped-up.
