ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE A501 TRUNK ROAD (ISLINGTON) RED ROUTE TRAFFIC ORDER 1996 VARIATION TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER 1999 AFFECTING CITY ROAD

The Council of the London Borough of Islington in consultation with the Traffic Director for London and following a direction given to him by the Secretary of State under section 58(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1991 to implement a Trunk Road Local Plan, hereby give notice that they intend to make the above-named Order under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The general nature and effect of the Order would be to vary the existing Red Route Traffic Order so as to change kerb-side controls at and adjacent to bus stops which service the No. 43 Bus Route. These changes are necessary to improve and protect accessibility of the bus stops so that passengers with restricted mobility may embark and disembark the new low floor buses that will be introduced on bus route 43 in spring 1999. The road affected by this Order is City Road in the London Borough of Islington. A copy of the Order, a statement of the Council’s reasons for the proposals, maps indicating the locations affected and effects of the Order and copies of any Order revoked, suspended or varied by the Order can be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of the Traffic Director for London, College House, London SW1P 3LN, and London Borough of Islington, Legal Department, Town Hall, Upper Street, Islington, London N1 2UD (please ask for Ref. LE/C/HGF). Any objection to the proposed Order must be made in writing, giving the grounds on which it is made, and sent to the Head of Law and Public Services, Town Hall, Upper Street, London N1 2UD, quoting the Ref. LE/C/HGF to arrive before 26th March 1999. Any objection may be communicated to other persons who may be affected. J. Ramsey, Head of Law and Public Services 4th March 1999.
