NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that Bowen Water Systems, Ponderosa Yard, Kirkby Malzeard, Ripon HG4 3RY, on behalf of Tilcon (North) Ltd., of Swinden Quarry, Linton, Skipton, North Yorkshire BD23 6BE, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the carboniferous limestone at National Grid Reference SD 9757 6064, at Swinden Quarry in the Civil Parish of Cracoe, Craven District, North Yorkshire.
The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 3 cubic metres per hour, 26 cubic metres per day and 9,490 cubic metres per year. The water will be used for spring compensation and cattle watering.
A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Swinden Quarry, Linton, Skipton, between 29th January 1999 and 26th February 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Coverdale House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York YO30 4UZ, before the end of the said period.
