TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under section 247 of the above Act to authorise the stopping-up of all-purpose highways at St. Germain Street and Chequers Way, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. If the Order is made, the stopping-up will be authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to Churchmanor Estates Company Plc, by Huntingdonshire District Council, on 4th September 1998, under reference 97/1246. The proposed Order will require new and improved lengths of highways maintainable at the public expense for which Cambridgeshire County Council will be the local highway authority. The proposed Order will provide that the stopping-up must not be carried out until Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd., has improve highway and provided new all-purpose highway and that the improved highway and the new all-purpose highway shall be a highway maintainable at the public expense for which Cambridgeshire County Council will be the local highway authority. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours during 28 days commencing on 28th January 1999, at the offices of Huntingdonshire District Council, Pathfinder House, St. Mary’s Street, Huntingdon, and Huntingdon Town Council, 1 Trinity Place, Hertford Road, Huntingdon, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport) (quoting reference GT/H0520/35/1/05) at the address stated below. Any person may object to the making of the proposed Order within the period of 28 days commencing on 28th January 1999, by notice to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, quoting the above Reference, at the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport), Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL. In preparing an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of it may be impaired to other persons who may be affected by it and that those persons may wish to communicate with the objector about it.
