PROPOSED 40 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT—OLD FARLEIGH ROAD, SELSDON

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make the Croydon (40 m.p.h. Speed Limit) under sections 84 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985. The general effect of the Order will be to prohibit any motor vehicle exceeding a speed of 40 m.p.h. in that length of Old Farleigh Road, Selsdon, between the north-western kerb-line of Beech Way and the boundary with Surrey County Council. A copy of the proposed Order, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, and of a map indicating the length of road to which the proposed Order relates can be inspected, until the expiration of a period of 28 days from the date on which this notice is published, during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the “One Stop” facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey. As this proposal is in association with Surrey County Council’s proposals for a 40 m.p.h. speed limit in Farleigh Road, Warlingham, their related documents will also be on display at the above address and at the Business and Information Support Centre (Room 122), County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston-upon-Thames, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at Tandridge District Council Offices, Station Road East, Oxted, during normal office hours, on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, and at Warlingham Branch Library, Shelton Avenue, Warlingham, during normal opening hours. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Public Services and Works Department, London Borough of Croydon, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey, quoting Ref. T&P/PS/JAA/31/D31, within the aforementioned period of 28 days. The proposed Order is intended to introduce a speed limit of 40 m.p.h. on a length of Old Farleigh Road to improve road safety and in association with proposals for the same restriction on the Surrey section of the road.
