NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR CONSENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECTION 88
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991, that the following application has been made to the Environment Agency, South West Region. South West Water Limited have applied for a variation of their consent to discharge from the Black Rock outfall in Falmouth. Improvements to the discharges are proposed as part of the Clean Sweep Programme. The proposals are that the existing preliminary treatment works will be extended to provide biological secondary treatment followed by tertiary treatment through sand filters and ultraviolet disinfection prior to discharge through the existing Black Rock outfall. The application is for a Dry Weather Flow of up to 9,500 cubic metres per day. The proposals include the provision for emergency discharge, standby power and storage facilities in the event of pump failure. Reference: 300897. Site Name: Falmouth Sewage Treatment Works.
