NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR LICENCES TO ABSTRACT WATER

Take notice that (1) Unison, 1 Mabledon Place, London; (2) RE & D Snell, Orway Porch Farm, Kentisbeare, Cullompton, Devon; (3) Sellick Nurseries, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset; and (4) Foxmoor Nurseries, Wellington, Somerset; are applying to the Environment Agency for licences to abstract water from (1) Shales at National Grid Reference SS 438 388 (Croyde Bay Holiday Park, Croyde, North Devon); (2) Sandstone at National Grid Reference ST 078 073; (3) Mudstone at National Grid Reference ST 160 200; and (4) Mudstone at National Grid Reference ST 161 203. The proposals are to abstract water at the following rates: (1) 50 cubic metres per day; 8,000 cubic metres per year for commercial use; (2) 700 cubic metres per day; 24,000 cubic metres per year for spray irrigation; (3) 26 cubic metres per day; 4,000 cubic metres per year for spray irrigation; and (4) 190 cubic metres per day; 25,000 cubic metres per year for spray irrigation. Copies of the applications and any maps, plans and other documents submitted with them may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the relevant local address above between 8th December 1998 and 8th January 1999. Any person who wishes to make representations about any of the applications should do so in writing to the Environment Agency at the following addresses: For (1), (2) Exminster House, Miller Way, Exminster, Devon; for (3), (4) Rivers House, East Quay, Bridgwater, Somerset, before the end of the said period.
