The West Oxfordshire District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1998
Notice is hereby given that West Oxfordshire District Council in exercising its powers under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers proposes to make an Order the effect of which will be to repeal the following existing Orders: The West Oxfordshire District Council (Hensington Road, Woodstock) (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1991 The West Oxfordshire District Council (Carterton) (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1989 The West Oxfordshire District Council (New Street, Chipping Norton) (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1986 The West Oxfordshire District Council (Spendlove, Charlbury) (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1986 The West Oxfordshire District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Burwell Farm) Order 1981 The Witney Rural District (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1973 The Witney Urban District (Street and Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1968 The Witney Urban District (Street and Off-Street Parking Places) Order 1962 and to enact a new replacement Order in respect of the following off-street car parks; Guildenford, Burford Alvescot Road, Carterton Black Bourton Road, Carterton Spendlove Centre, Charlbury Albion Street, Chipping Norton Cattle Market, Chipping Norton New Street, Chipping Norton Back Lane, Eynsham Great Tew Car Park, Great Tew Riely Close, Long Hanborough Burwell Drive, Witney Welch Way, Witney Witan Way, Witney Witan Way (temporary site), Witney Hensington Road, Woodstock The Order will have the effect of restricting the use of these car parks to motor cars (within the provisions of section 132(2) of the Act), motor cycles, motor vehicles used for the conveyance of goods not exceeding 1,525kg in weight, invalid carriages, disabled persons’ vehicles, and to a time limit of 12 hours within any 24 hour period with the exception of Cattle Market, Chipping Norton, and the short-stay area of Welch Way, Witney, where parking will be restricted to 2 hours. In addition, in respect of the car park (long-stay area) at Welch Way, Witney, the Order will permit the use of the car park by heavy goods vehicles between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. the following morning. A copy of the Order with relevant maps and a statement of the reasons for making the Order can be seen at the following times and places: West Oxfordshire District Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxon, or West Oxfordshire District Council Offices, The Gables, New Yatt Road, Witney, Oxon, or West Oxfordshire District Council Offices, The Guildhall, Goddards Lane, Chipping Norton, Oxon, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should do so in writing stating the nature and grounds of their objection to the undersigned person to be received no later than 21 days from the date of publication of this notice.
