Stopping-up of a length of highway at Harcombe Cross (A38 Expressway), Chudleigh, Devon

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Devon) (No. SW 4) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of a length of highway at Harcombe Cross (A38 Expressway), Chudleigh, Devon, to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission referred to in that Schedule.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the South West (Transport), 5th Floor, The Pithay, Bristol BS1 2PB (quoting Ref. GOSW(T) 5051/35/1/297), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Chudleigh Town Council, at Chudleigh Town Hall, Chudleigh, Devon TQ13 0JT.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 5th June 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. Schedule

  Construction of a shop, canopy and ancillary accommodation for service station, to replace existing building to be demolished at Harcombe Cross Service Station, in accordance with planning permission granted to Mr. J. Mason, by Teignbridge District Council, on 14th April 1997, under Ref. 95/3166/30/3.
