The North Dorset (Off-Street) Parking Places Order 1997 Variation Order No. 1

Notice is hereby given that the North Dorset District Council proposes to make a Variation Order to the North Dorset (Off-Street) Parking Places Order 1997, under section 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and section 111 of the Local Government Act 1972, the effect of which is:   To increase the excess charge (an amount equivalent to an excess charge) from £30 to £40 where a vehicle is parked in contravention of the North Dorset (Off-Street) Parking Places Order 1997, in various circumstances and to increse the reduced charge from £15 to £20 if payment is made within 21 days.   To incorporate within the Car Park Order the new car parks at:   (i) Hod Hill, Hanford;   (ii) The Bridge Amenity Area, Sturminster Newton;   (iii) Woolland Hill, Bulbarrow;   (iv) Stour Meadow, Blandford St. Mary.   Parking in all the car parks will be free of charge.   To delete Victoria Street Car Park from the current Order since it is no longer available for car parking purposes.   To authorise and regulate the collection and payment of charges (some of which have been increased by this Variation Order), and to impose all the charges specified in the Schedule attached to the Order at the times and places therein shown.   A copy of the draft Order, and the relevant maps and plans showing the changes above-mentioned and a statement of reasons for making the Order can be inspected at “Nordon”, Salisbury Road, Blandford Forum, Dorset DT11 7LL, during normal office hours, i.e., 8.40 a.m. to 5 p.m. (but 4 p.m. on Fridays).   All objections must be made in writing, specify the grounds thereof and can be made at or delivered to North Dorset District Council, “Nordon”, Salisbury Road, Blandford Forum, Dorset DT11 7LL, on or before 5th May 1998.
