Notice of an application for a licence to abstract water
Take notice that C. Rayner Limited, of Oldbury Farm, Southend Road, Great Wakering,
Southend-on-Sea, Essex SS3 0JS, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence
to abstract water from a borehole sunk in the chalk at National Grid Reference TQ
931 872, at Oldbury Farm, Southend Road, Great Wakering, Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 520 cubic metres per
day, 36,600 cubic metres between 1st April to 31st October, inclusive, and 9,150 cubic
metres between 1st November to 31st March inclusive. The water will be used for spray
irrigation and to fill a reservoir for subsequent use for spray irrigation on the
land at Oldbury Farm outlined in red on the map submitted.
This application is to replace without change in quantities (or rates of abstraction)
the abstraction authorised by Licence No. 8/37/44/069 which expires on 31st March
1998.
A copy of the application, map and other documents submitted with it may be inspected,
free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Oldbury Farm Office, between Wednesday,
11th March 1998 and Wednesday, 8th April 1998.
Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so
in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Eastern Area, Cobham Road, Ipswich,
Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period.
