EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (NON-LIFE) INSURANCE FRAMEWORK REGULATIONS 1994 IRISH NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY PUBLIC LIMITED COMPANY Transfer of General Business

Notice is hereby given that Irish National Insurance Company Public Limited Company (“Irish National”) applied to the Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in the Republic of Ireland, on 27th March 1997, for approval, pursuant to the European Communities (Non-Life) Insurance Framework Regulations 1994, to transfer to AXA Provincial Insurance plc (known prior to 1st January 1998, as UAP Provincial Insurance Company plc) all of its rights and obligations in respect of the following:

  (a) policies written by its London Admiral Underwriting Agencies and Robert Malatier Limited;
  (b) its previousl participation in the British Insurance (Atomic Energy) Committee; and
  (c) its reciprocal exchange business with Co-operative Insurance Society Limited, the Eccleslastical Insurance Office plc, Guildhall Insurance Company Limited, The Mercantile and General Re-Insurance Company Limited and the Victory Re-Insurance Company Limited, on or before 12th February 1997.

  Copies of the statement of particulars of the proposed transfer are available for inspection at any of the following locations until 29th March 1998, from Mondays to Fridays (public holidays excepted) between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., at AXA Provincial Insurance plc, Stramongate, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 4BE, and at Linklaters & Palnes, One Silk Street, London EC2Y 8HQ.
  Written representations in relation to the proposed transfer may be sent to the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Insurance (Non-Life) Section, Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment, Kildare Street, Dublin 2, before 28th April 1998. The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment will not make his decision as to whether to approve the transfer until any representations made to him before that date have been considered.
