LONDON BOROUGH OF CROYDON

Proposed 1 Hour Pay and Display Parking Bays and Any Time Waiting Restrictions in Station Approach and Approach Road, Purley Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon, propose to make the above-mentioned Orders under sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   The general effect of the Croydon (On Street Parking Places) (No.  ) Order Traffic Order 199   will be:   (a) to designate parking places in the length of Station Approach, Purley, specified in the Schedule to this notice, at which charges may be made by the Council for the leaving of vehicles authorised by the Order;   (b) to specify that passenger vehicles (with 12 seats or less), goods carrying vehicles, motor cycles and invalid carriages might be left in the parking places provided;   (c) to specify that the parking places will be in operation at any time throughout the week and will be controlled by means of “pay and display” parking with payment to a ticket parking meter;   (d) to provide that at the parking places situated on the highway specified, the charge for leaving a vehicle will vary from 10p for 15 minutes up to 40p (maximum) for 1 hour (maximum) with no return for an hour.   The general effect of the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No.   ) Order 199  , would be to further amend the Croydon (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991, so that waiting would be prohibited at any time throughout the week in Station Approach Road, Purley.   Copies of the proposed Orders (and of all related Orders) of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Orders and of a map indicating the lengths of road to which the proposed Orders relate can be inspected for a period of 28 days from the date of this notice during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.   Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Traffic Management Section, Public Services and Works Department, London Borough of Croydon, on 0181-686 4433 Extension 2383.   Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Public Services and Works Department, London Borough of Croydon, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey, quoting Ref. TH/SJC/PP/P, within the aforesaid 28 days.   The Orders are intended to introduce some short stay 1 hour pay and display parking bays in Station Approach, Purley, and associated waiting restrictions to operate at any time throughout the week in Station Approach and a length of Approach Road, Purley, and to provide the Council with powers to enforce illegal parking thereon.   The Ward Councillors are Graham Bass, Peter McDonald and Derek Millard.   Station Approach, Purley, the central carriageway adjacent to the island site located at the junction of Whytecliffe Road South, from a point 8 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb-line of Whytecliffe Road South to a point 18.8 metres south-east of the same kerb-line at a special manner of standing of 90 degrees to the north-eastern kerb-line. 18th February 1998.
