Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that Alfred McAlpine Construction, of 8 Suffolk Street, London SW1 4HG, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from Rivers Gwili and Towy at National Grid References SN 433 213 and SN 420 205, at the site of A40 Carmarthen Eastern By-pass, Carmarthen.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 7 cubic metres per hour, 42 cubic metres per day, 5,500 cubic metres per year, between March and October each year. The water will be used for dust suppression during construction of works.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Site Offices, Old Station Road, Carmarthen, between 3rd March and 3rd April 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Welsh Region, Llys Afon, Hawthorn Rise, Haverfordwest SA61 2BQ, before the end of the said period.
