The A21 Trunk Road (Whatlington) (40 m.p.h. Speed Limit Order) 1998

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made this Order on 18th February 1998, coming into force on 2nd March 1998, on the A41 Trunk Road in the county of East Sussex. The notice of the proposal to make it (reference MSE 5054/A21/0/28/2/2) was published in The London Gazette on 12th December 1997, and the effect of the Order is as described in that notice.   A copy of the made Order, and of a plan illustrating the effect of the Order may be inspected during office hours at the offices of East Sussex County Council, Pelham House, St. Andrew’s Lane, Lewes and during opening hours at Battle Library, 7 Market Square, Battle, East Sussex TN33 0XA. They may also be obtained by application to the Southern Network Customer Services Division, Highways Agency, Federated House, London Road, Dorking, Surrey RH4 1SZ, quoting reference MSE 5054/A21/0/28/2/2.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act, or of regulations made thereunder, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks from 18th February 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or any provisions contained therein.
