WATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough of Watford (Oxhey and Bushey Arches Area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Loading and Unloading) Order 1998. Notice is hereby given that the Watford Borough Council, acting as agents for the Hertfordshire County Council, proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32 and 35 and Part II and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order would be to:   1. Reduce the extent of the existing prohibition of waiting at any time from 15 to 10 metres at the following junctions:    Capel Road, both sides, at its junction with Villiers Road;    Capel Road, both sides, at its junction with Pinner Road;    Lower Paddock Road, north side, at its junction with Villiers Road;    Upper Paddock Road, both sides, at its junction with Villiers Road;    Villiers Road, both sides, at its junction with Chalk Hill;    Villiers Road, west side, each side of its junction with Capel Road;    Villiers Road, east side, each side of its junction with Lower Paddock Road;    Villiers Road, east side, north of its junction with Upper Paddock Road.   2. Reduce the extent of the existing prohibition of waiting at any time at the following locations:    Oxhey Avenue, east side, at its junction with Pinner Road by 15 metres;    Oxhey Avenue, east side, at its junction with Watford Heath by 15 metres;    Villiers Road, west side, opposite the junction with Upper Paddock Road by 12 metres.   3. Introduce new prohibition of waiting at any time for a distance of 10 metres at the following junctions:    Field End Close, both sides, at its junction with Upper Paddock Road;    King Edward Road, both sides, at its junction with Chalk Hill;    King Edward Road, east side, at its junction with Warneford Place.   4. Extend the existing prohibition of waiting at any time at the following locations:    Blackwell Drive, west side, additional 10 metres outside Nos. 22 and 24;    Villiers Road, east side, additional 3 metres south of Upper Paddock Road.   5. Introduce new prohibition of waiting at any time at the following locations:    Chalk Hill, south side, for 15 metres each side of its junction with King Edward Road;    King Edward Road, east side, for 20 metres around the bend opposite Warneford Place;    Oxhey Avenue, east side, for 25 metres across its junction with Heath Road;    Warneford Place, south-east side, for 4 metres from its junction with King Edward Road;    Woodwaye, west side, for 20 metres across its junction with Ransome Close.   6. Revise existing restrictions of waiting Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., to prohibit waiting at any time at the following locations:    Pinner Road, east side, 7 metres across the junction with Hillside Crescent.   7. Reduce the extent of the existing restriction of waiting, Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., from 15 to 10 metres at the following junctions:    Grover Road, both sides, at its junction with Pinner Road;    Pinner Road, west side, south of the junction with Grover Road.   8. Restriction of waiting, Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., for a distance of 10 metres at the following junctions:    Cross Road, north-west side, north-east of its junction with King Edward Road;    Field Road, both sides, at its junction with King Edward Road;    King Edward Road, both sides, at its junction with Cross Road;    King Edward Road, south-west side, each side of its junction with Field Road;    Oxhey Road, south-west side, each side of its junction with Sheridan Road;    Sheridan Road, both sides, at its junction with Oxhey Road.   9. Remove all existing “anti commuter” (9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday) restrictions on Capel Road and Villiers Road.   10. All other existing restrictions in this area will remain unchanged.   Details of the proposals are set out in the Draft Order, which together with the relevant map and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined during normal office hours at the One Stop Shop, Town Hall, Watford. Objections to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made, must be sent in writing to be received by me at the address below by Friday, 13th March 1998. J.
