Notice of application to vary a licence to abstract water

Take notice that The Names of the Trustees who hold the ownership of the land of Corhampton Golf Club are applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 11/42/25.2/55 to abstract water from Chalk Underground Strata at National Grid Reference SU 592 198 at Corhampton Golf Club. The variation being applied for is to extend the area of licensed land, increase the period of irrigation during the summer by one month from 1st April to 31st October and to increase quantities of water to be abstracted from 4,545 cubic metres to 20,455 cubic metres per year. The daily and total quantities of 68.2 cubic metres and 4,545 cubic metres abstracted during the summer months to remain unchanged. The hourly quantity abstracted during the summer to increase to 7.92 cubic metres. Increased quantities of water to be abstracted during winter months of 1st November to 31st March consist of 7.92 cubic metres per hour, 190.1 cubic metres per day and 15,910 cubic metres in total to be stored in a lined reservoir. The water to be used for spray irrigation of a golf course.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at The Secretary’s Office, Corhampton Golf Club, Sheeps Pond Road, Corhampton, Southampton, between 3rd March and 3rd April 1998.   Any person wishing to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, The Resources Manager, Sarum Court, Sarum Road, Winchester, Hampshire SO22 5DP, before the said end period.
