New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Section 58

Highway Reconstruction Works 1997-98

Notice is hereby given in pursuance of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, that it is intended to undertake substantial roadworks in the areas stated below, commencing Monday, 6th April 1998.    Portland Street South, Ashton-under-Lyne, from the junction of Hill Street to its termination at the canal.    Welbeck Street South, Ashton-under-Lyne, from the junction of Hill Street to its termination at the canal.    Portland Place, Ashton-under-Lyne, from the junction of Portland Street South to the junction of Welbeck Street South.   The works will comprise of reconstruction of the carriageway and footways within the limits described.   Street works, as defined in section 48(3) of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, shall be restricted on the above-mentioned roads (except as mentioned in section 58(5) of the Act).
