ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The A565 (Southport New Road and Gravel Lane, Banks) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 1997
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives
notice that he intends to make an Order under sections 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the A565 Southport New Road and Gravel Lane,
Banks in the District of West Lancashire, in the county of Lancashire.
The effect of the Order will be to prevent vehicles from entering or leaving the
A565 Trunk Road (Southport New Road) at its junction with the northern section of
Gravel Lane, Banks.
The provisions of the Order will not apply to any person riding a bicycle or a
horse.
A copy of the draft Order together with a plan illustrating the proposals and a
copy of the statement of reasons may be inspected during normal working hours at the
office of the Chief Executive, Lancashire County Council, PO Box 78, County Hall,
Preston PR2 8JX, West Lancashire District Council, Development and Amenities Department,
52 Derby Street, Ormskirk, L39 2DF, or may be seen at or obtained by application to
the office of the Director, Network and Customer Services Division of the Highways
Agency, Room 705, Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE.
Any person wishing to object to the Secretary of State’s proposals to make this
Order should send a written statement of their objection to the Director’s address
given above. The objection should quote NOD/0/A565/0/41/29/1/1 and should arrive no
later than Thursday, 5th March 1998.
