Notice of application for consent for the purposes of section 88

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Severn Trent Water Limited for consent to discharge up to 32 cubic metres per day under dry weather flow conditions of secondary treated sewage effluent to the Preston Brook at National Grid Reference SO 6561 3336 from the newly constructed Much Marcle Sewage Treatment Works, Much Marcle, Hereford and Worcester.   The Sewage Treatment Works has been constructed in order to receive and treat the sewage from the village of Much Marcle which at present has no public foul sewerage system.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so, in writing, to the Area Water Quality Consent Officer at the Agency’s offices at Riversmeet House, Newtown Industrial Estate, Northway Lane, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire GL20 8JG, during the period 13th February 1998 to 27th March 1998, quoting reference WAV/LS/60714.   A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Agency’s offices at the above address and at Olton Court, 10 Warwick Road, Olton, Solihull, West Midlands B92 7HX.   The Environment Agency is committed to maintaining and, where possible, improving water quality. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interested parties, it is decided that consent can be given, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that the effluent receives treatment before discharge to the receiving waters so that the above aims are met.
