COTTAM DEVELOPMENT CENTRE LTD

Notice of a staged application for Authorisation under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Part I to operate an international development and test centre for large gas turbines at Cottam Power Station in the district of Bassetlaw, in the county of Nottinghamshire. Notice is hereby given that Cottam Development Centre Ltd has submitted a staged integrated pollution control (IPC) application to the Environment Agency, under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, Part I, for an authorisation to operate an international development and test centre for large gas turbines at Cottam Power Station, Outgang Lane, Cottam, near Retford, Nottinghamshire. The development and test centre has been called the Cottam Development Centre.   The Cottam Development Centre is a joint venture between PowerGen and Siemens of Germany to commercially test and develop existing and new designs of gas turbine electricity generating plant, manufactured by Siemens. Although located at Cottam Power Station the Cottam Development Centre will run as a separate commerical operation from PowerGen’s UK electricity business.   A copy of the staged application documents (IPC Application Number AZ6967) are available for inspection, free of charge, by members of the public during normal office hours at the following addresses: Bassetlaw District Council, Queen’s Building, Potter Street, Worksop, Nottinghamshire S80 2AH; and Environment Agency Area Office, Lower Trent Area, Trentside Offices, Scarrington Road, West Bridgeford, Nottinghamshire NG2 5FA.   Any person wishing to make representations to this application should do so by writing to the Environment Agency Area Office, Lower Trent Area, Trentside Offices, Scarrington Road, West Bridgeford, Nottinghamshire NG2 5FA, within a 28 day period starting from the date this advertisement was published.
