TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (London Borough of Newham) (No. 1) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of a length of Connaught Road and a length of the un-named footpath linking Connaught Road with Leyes Road, London E.16, and requiring the provision of a new highway linking Connaught Road to the Connaught Junction, two new footpaths/cycleways and improvements to Connaught Road by widening.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for London, Transport Management Division, 8/W19, Riverwalk House, 157-161 Millbank, London SW1P 4RR (quoting Ref. LRO 34/G5750/1/09), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of the London Borough of Newham, Technical Services Department, 25 Nelson Street, East Ham, London E.6.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within six weeks of 13th February 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
