Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The Borough of Tamworth (Browns Lane/Gillway Lane) (7.5 tonne Weight Restriction) Order 1998.

Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Tamworth pursuant to arrangements made under section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with the County Council of Stafford in accordance with sections 1(1), 2(1), (2) and (4) and 3(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, have made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle whose maximum gross weight exceeds 7.5 tonne from proceeding on Browns Lane/Gillway Lane.   A copy of the Order whcih comes into operation on the 9th February 1998 together with a plan showing the affected lengths of roads and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be examined at Marmion House, Lichfield Street, Tamworth between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.   Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement thereof of any Instrument made thereunder has not been complied with may within 6 weeks from the date of this notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.
