Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that Welwyn Garden City Golf Club Ltd., of Mannicotts, High Oaks Road, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from chalk at National Grid Reference TL 227 134 at Welwyn Garden City Golf Club, Mannicotts, High Oaks Road, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 12 cubic metres per hour, 260 cubic metres per day, 25,000 cubic metres between April and October each year.   The water will be used for spray irrigation of Golf Course.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Welwyn Garden City Golf Club between 4th February and 4th March 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Team Leader Water Resources, Apollo Court, 2 Bishop Square Business Park, St. Albans Road West, Hatfield, Hertfordshire AL10 9EX, before the end of the said period, quoting the name of the applicant.
