Notice of application to vary a licence to abstract water

Take note that Tarmac Heavy Building Materials (UK) Limited, of Millfields Road, Ettingshall, Wolverhampton, West Midlands WV4 6JP, is applying to the Environment Agency to vary licence serial number 7/34/11/G/380 to abstract water from underground strata (chalk) at National Grid References TF 9369 1713, TF 9382 1712 at Tarmac Quarry Products Limited, Bittering Works, near Dereham, Norfolk NR19 2QS.   The variation being applied for is an in-perpetuity increase in abstraction rates from 357 (252) cubic metres per day and 102,000 (72,000) cubic metres per annum to 525 cubic metres per day, 150,000 cubic metres per annum. The water will be used for mineral washing. (The quantities shown in brackets are those that the licence would otherwise revert to from 1st September 1998).   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Tarmac Quarry Products Limited, Bittering Works, near Dereham, Norfolk NR19 2QS, between 2nd February 1998 and 2nd March 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Eastern Area, Cobham Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP3 9JE, before the end of the said period.
