Notice of application for consent in pursuance of section 88 and Schedule 10

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 88 and Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991, that a consent application has been made to the Environment Agency (Southern Region) by Southern Water Services Ltd., for the provision of Phosphate removal from the existing treated sewage effluent discharge at Ashford Waste Water Treatment Works, National Grid Reference TR 0252 4359.   This scheme has been proposed to meet the requirements of the EC Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) for reducing phosphate levels for discharges to sensitive waters.   Any person wishing to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Area Environment Planning Manager, Environment Agency, Orchard House, Endeavour Park, London Road, Addington, West Malling, Kent ME19 5SH, not later than 6th March 1998, quoting application Ref. A805/K/98.   A copy of the application may be inspected, free of charge, at the above address and also at the offices of the Environment Agency, at Sturry Road, Canterbury, Kent CT2 0AA, at all reasonable hours.
