THE WATER ENVIRONMENT (CONTROLLED ACTIVITIES) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2005 (“THE 2005 REGULATIONS”)

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Regulation 13 of the 2005 Regulations, that an application has been made to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) by The Coal Authority for authorisation to carry out a controlled activity, namely:

CAR/L/1080043 Blindwells Borehole Drilling and Test Pump

1.  An abstraction for the purpose of carrying out a pump test at NT 41620 74755 from 20 February 2010.

CAR/L/1079382 Blindwells Mine Water Treatment Scheme

1.  Abstraction of 30,240 m3 per day from groundwater at NGR NT 41785 74810 from 20 February 2010.

2.  Abstraction of 30,240 m3 per day from groundwater at NGR NT 41620 74755 from 20 February 2010.

3.  Abstraction of 43,200 m3 per day of treated minewater to surface water at NGR NT 41341 74635 from 20 February 2010.

Any person affected or likely to be affected by, or having an interest in, the application may make representations about the application to SEPA in writing within 28 days beginning with the date of this advertisement, at the following address quoting CARL/L/1079382 and/or CAR/L/1080043:

Written representations received within 28 days of this advertisement will be taken into consideration in determining the application. Any such representations will be entered in a public register unless the person making them requests that they should not be. Where such a request is made there will be included in the register a statement indicating that representations have been made which have been the subject of such a request.
