THE WATER ENVIRONMENT (CONTROLLED ACTIVITIES) (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2005 (“the 2005 Regulations”)

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Regulation 13 of the 2005 Regulations, that an application has been made to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) by Scottish Water for authorisation to carry out a controlled activity, namely:-

1)  Discharge of 139.65m³ per day of Sewage Effluent to Loch Ewe at Ploc Leacan Donna, Mellon Charles at NGR NG 8369 9233 from 21 January 2008.

2)  Discharge of screened domestic sewage and surface water discharge in emergency conditions to Loch Ewe at Drumchork at NGR NG 8742 8852 from 21 January 2008.

3)  Discharge of screened domestic sewage and surface water discharge in storm conditions to Loch Ewe at Drumchork at NGR NG 8742 8852 from 21 January 2008.

4)  Discharge of screened domestic sewage and surface water discharge in emergency conditions to Loch Ewe at Alt Beithe, Aultbea at NGR NG 8715 8893 from 21 January 2008.

5)  Discharge of screened domestic sewage and surface water discharge in storm conditions to Loch Ewe at Alt Beithe, Aultbea at NGR NG 8715 8893 from 21 January 2008.

6)  Discharge of screened domestic sewage and surface water discharge in emergency conditions to Loch Ewe at Pier Road, Aultbea at NGR NG 8684 8891 from 21 January 2008.

7)  Discharge of screened domestic sewage and surface water discharge in storm conditions to Loch Ewe at Pier Road, Aultbea at NGR NG 8684 8891 from 21 January 2008.

8)  Discharge of screened domestic sewage and surface water discharge in emergency conditions to Loch Ewe at Braeside Cottage, Ormiscaig at NGR NG 8619 9013 from 21 January 2008.

15)  Discharge of screened domestic sewage and surface water discharge in storm conditions to Loch Ewe at Sgeir Glas, Mellon Charles at NGR NG 8485 9080 from 21 January 2008.

Any person affected or likely to be affected by, or having an interest in, the application may make representations about the application to SEPA in writing within 28 days beginning with the date of this advertisement, at the following address: The Registry Department, SEPA, Dingwall Office, Graesser House, Fodderty Way, Dingwall IV15 9XB, quoting reference number CAR/L/1031729.

A copy of the application may be inspected free of charge, at the above address, between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday (except local and national holidays).

Written representations received within 28 days of this advertisement will be taken into consideration in determining the application. Any such representations will be placed in a public register unless the person making them requests that they should not be. Where such a request is made there will be included in the register a statement indicating that representations have been made which have been the subject of such a request.
