NOTICE UNDER PARAGRAPH 8 OF SCHEDULE 16 TO THE ACT

Notice is hereby given that Catholic Building Society, Register No. 89B, whose principal office is at 7 Strutton Ground, London SW1P 2HY desires to transfer its engagements to Chelsea Building Society, Register No. 707B, and that each society has applied to the Financial Services Authority (FSA), to confirm the transfer.

Notice is hereby given that Chelsea Building Society, Register No: 707B, whose head office is at Thirlestaine Hall, Thirlestaine Road, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire GL53 7AL desires to accept a transfer of the engagements of Catholic Building Society, Register No. 89B, and that each society has applied to the FSA to confirm the transfer.

Any interested party may make written representations to the FSA and/or give notice of intention to make oral representations to the FSA with respect to the application. Written representations and notices of intention to make oral representations should be received by the Financial Services Authority, 11th Floor, RFD, Banking & Mortgages Department, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS marked “Catholic Building Society Merger” or by email to catholicbs.merger@fsa.gov.uk by 31 October 2008. If notice is given of oral representations these will be heard by the FSA on 18 November 2008, at a time and place to be determined by the FSA.
