NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A SUBMARINE PIPE-LINES WORKS AUTHORISATION
BP Exploration Operating Company Limited hereby gives notice on behalf of itself and the Iranian Oil Company UK Limited, in accordance with the provisions of Part I of Schedule 2 to the Petroleum Act 1998, that it has made an application to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry for the grant of an authorisation for the construction and use of a system of pipe-lines for the development of the Rhum field. The application covers pipelines between the Bruce platform and the Rhum sub-sea manifold consisting of: a 16”/22” gas condensate pipe-in-pipe pipeline; a 3” industrial methylated spirit pipeline; an electro-hydraulic control and chemical injection umbilical. In addition, the following will be installed between the subsea manifold and the 3 infield wells: 3 off 8”/14” pipe-in-pipe pipelines; 3 off 2” vent lines; 3 off infield umbilicals. All of the pipelines shall be either trenched and buried or, where this is not possible, protected by mattresses or pipeline protection units. Rock dumping shall be employed at some points along the pipeline.
A map delineating the route of the proposed pipe-lines and providing certain further information may be inspected free of charge at the places listed in the Schedule to this notice from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each weekday from the date that this notice is published until the date mentioned in the next paragraph of this notice.
Pursuant to a direction of the Secretary of State, representations with respect to the application may be made in writing and addressed to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry at the ERDU-LED, Atholl House, 86-88 Guild Street, Aberdeen AB11 6AR (marked FAO Mrs Carol Campbell, Offshore Pipelines Authorisations) not later than 28 January 2005, and should bear the reference “RDBC/001/00235C” and state the grounds upon which the representations are made.
