Proposed Development of a Windfarm on The Eisgein Estate, Isle of Lewis
Notice is hereby given that an application has been submitted to the Scottish Ministers by Beinn Mhor Power Ltd (whose Registered Office is 39 Castle Street, Edinburgh, EH2 3BH) for consent to construct and operate a 133 turbine windfarm and associated infrastructure, on the Eisgein Estate (NGR 126006, 912482), Isle of Lewis. Consent is being sought for the Muaitheabhal windfarm with an installed capacity of up to 399MW, under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989 and also deemed planning permission under Section 57 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997. The application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement produced in accordance with the Electricity Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2000.
A copy of the Environmental Statement and the application for consent may be inspected during normal hours at the Scottish Executive Library, Saughton House, Broomhouse Drive, Edinburgh, EH11 3XD during the period of 28 days beginning with the date of 16th December 2004. A copy of the Environmental Statement is also available for viewing at the following locations:

A copy of the Environmental Statement may be purchased from Land Use Consultants, 37 Otago Street, Glasgow, G12 8JJ (Tel: 0141 3349595) at a cost of £300 per hard copy or £25 per CD Rom version. Two hundred copies of the CD Rom version of the ES will be made available to Lewis residents free of charge, on a first come first serve basis, from the same address. Copies of the Non Technical Summary of the ES are also available free of charge from the same address.
Any objections or representations to the application should be made in writing to Paul Smith, The Scottish Executive, Consents and Emergency Planning Unit, 2nd Floor, Meridian Court, 5 Cadogan Street, Glasgow, G2 6AT, paul.smith@scotland.gsi.gov.uk identifying the proposal and specifying the grounds for objection, not later than Thursday 13th January 2005. Individuals making a representation regarding this proposal should note that their letter or e-mail will be disclosed to any individual or body who requests sight of representation in respect of this proposal. If you do not wish your representation to be disclosed you should make this explicitly clear.
