Supplement No. 2 to British Approved Names 2002

The Health and Agriculture Ministers, that is to say in respect of England, Scotland and Wales, the Secretary of State concerned with health in England and the Secretary of State concerned with the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and, in respect of Northern Ireland, the Department1 of Health, Social Services and Public Safety and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, acting jointly, having on the recommendation of the Medicines Commission caused to be published the second supplement to British Approved Names 2002, hereby give notice under section 102(5) of the Medicines Act 1968 that the subject matter contained in the said supplement shall take effect on 1st May 2003.

For the purposes of section 102(6) of the Medicines Act 1968, the printer to Her Majesty of all Acts of Parliament has been authorised by the said Ministers to print copies of the subject matter contained in the said supplement.

Copies of the said supplement are supplied without further charge to registered purchasers of British Approved Names 2002.


1The powers vested in the Minister in charge of the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety by virtue of section 95(5) of and paragraph 10 of Schedule 12 to the Northern Ireland Act 1998 (c.47) may now be exercised by that Department by virtue of section 1(8) of and paragraph 4(1)(b) of the Schedule to the Northern Ireland Act 2000 (c.1).
