NOTICE OF MARINE WORKS AT LONGANNET POWER StATION

Notice is hereby given that Forth Ports Plc of Tower Place, Leith, Edinburgh, EH6 7DB, has applied to the Scottish Ministers of the Scottish Executive, under section 34 of the Coast Protection Act 1949 as amended by the section 36 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1988, to carry out development of a mooring station for self discharge of coal barges at Longannet Power Station and construction of a fully enclosed conveyor system to transfer coal directly to the existing coal stockpile at the above location in the position(s):

In compliance with the terms of the Harbour Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 1999, the Scottish Ministers have determined that this project falls within Annex 1 to Council Directive 85/337/EEC on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment (as amended by Council Directive 97/11/EC) whose characteristics require that it should be made the subject of an environmental impact assessment. A copy of the application and environmental statement, together with plans showing the position of the works may be inspected between 09:00 to 16:00 hours at:

 Forth Ports Plc, Carron House, Central Dock Road, Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, FK3 8TY during the period of 28 days beginning with the date of this notice.

Objections relating to safety of navigation, in respect of the application should be made to The Scottish Executive, Transport Division 4, Area 2F North, Mailpoint 40, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ within 28 days of the date of this notice quoting reference 2 SPC/1/15(45).
