Notice Under Paragraph 6 of Schedule 15 to the Friendly Societies Act 1992

Notice is hereby given that application has been made to the Financial Services Authority for confirmation of the transfer of engagements of the retirement annuity plans of Strand Friendly Society whose registered office is at 7 Arundel Street, London WC2R 3DX, to Scottish Mutual Assurance plc, whose registered office is at Abbey National House, 301 St Vincent Street, Glasgow G2 5HN.

The Financial Services Authority intends to hear oral representations in accordance with Schedule 15 to the Friendly Societies Act 1992 with respect to the application from interested parties on 9th April 2003. Any interested party has the right to make representations or give notice of their intention to make oral representations to the Financial Services Authority at 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS on or before 28th March 2003 and such interested parties are invited to write to Mr. D. Songara, Insurance Firms’ Division (15th Floor) at that address for this purpose. It would be helpful if the nature of the oral representations could be stated.
