THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL (MARKET STREET, EDINBURGH) (STOPPING UP) ORDER 2003

Notice is hereby given that on 26th February 2003 The City of Edinburgh Council made an Order under Section 207 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 (“the 1997 Act”) stopping up the road specified in the Schedule hereto, being satisfied that it has become necessary to authorise the stopping up of the said road in order to enable development to be carried out in accordance with planning permission granted under Part III of the 1997 Act.

A copy of the Order and relevant plan showing the road to be stopped up have been deposited at The City of Edinburgh Council, City Development Department, 1 Cockburn Street, Edinburgh.

Those documents are available for inspection free of charge from 7th March 2003 till 4th April 2003 during the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

Any person may, within 28 days from 7th March 2003, make representations or object to the making of the Order by notice in writing, quoting reference PO/E/O2/5, to The Council Solicitor’s Division, (Planning and Transportation), City Chambers, (Anchor Close), Edinburgh, EH1 1YJ. Representations and objections should state the name and address of the person by whom they are made, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made.

Length of Road to be Stopped Up

Market Street - South side - from the west building line of the City Art Centre number 2 Market Street for a distance of 11.8 metres or thereby westwards and which has a width which decreases from 2.65 metres or thereby to 1.72 metres or thereby and then for a distance of 18.8 metres or thereby westwards and which has a width decreasing from 6.04 metres or thereby to 1.45 metres or thereby.
