Transfer of General Business - No 6883 of 2002

1. Notice is hereby given that ORG Re (UK) Limited and Riverstone Insurance (UK) Limited applied to the High Court of Justice on 17th October 2002, for its sanction, pursuant to Part VII of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, of a scheme for the transfer from ORG Re (UK) Limited to Riverstone Insurance (UK) Limited of all ORG Re (UK) Limited’s general insurance business. This general insurance business comprises three separate pools of insurance currently managed by Admiral Underwriting Agencies (a division of Victor O Schinnerer & Company Limited) (“Admiral”), Omni Whittington Insurance Services Limited (“Orion”) and PRO Insurance Services Limited (“Gibbon”), comprising third party liability, proportional treaty and marine business respectively.
2. Copies of the scheme report, a statement setting out the terms of the scheme and containing a summary of the scheme report and the audited accounts for 2001 of ORC Re Limited, an affiliated reinsurance Company of and reinsurer of ORG Re (UK) Limited, are available for inspection Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 5.30pm until Wednesday 11th December 2002, at Park Gate, 161-163 Preston Road, Brighton, BN1 6AU.
3. The application is directed to be heard before His Honour Mr Justice Peter Smith at the Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London WC2A 2LL on 16th December 2002. Any person, (including any employee of ORG Re (UK) Limited or Riverstone Insurance (UK) Limited) who claims that he or she would be adversely affected by the scheme may appear at the time of the hearing in person or by Counsel. Any person who intends so to appear and any policyholder of ORG Re (UK) Limited or Riverstone Insurance (UK) Limited who dissents from the scheme but does not intend so to appear should give not less than two clear days prior notice in writing of such intention or dissent and of the reasons therefore to the Solicitors named below. Written representations concerning the transfer may be sent to the Financial Services Authority, Insurance and Friendly Societies Division, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS, before 11th December 2002.
