The Waste Batteries and Accumulators (Charges) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009

The Department of the Environment has made a Statutory Rule entitled the Waste Batteries and Accumulators (Charges) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 (S.R. 2009 No. 157). The Rule is made under powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 and Articles 56(1) and (2) of the Finance Act 1973. The Statutory Rule will prescribe the charges to be paid to the Department by small battery producers, battery compliance schemes, battery treatment operators and battery exporters under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009. The Regulations come into operation on 5th May 2009.
