WEIGHTS AND MEASURES (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 1981

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment has made a Statutory Rule under the Weights and Measures (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 entitled:

“Weights and Measures (Passing as Fit for Use for Trade and Adjustment Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 (S.R. 2009 No. 66)”.

The Rule, which comes into operation on 1st April 2009, prescribes the fees to be paid in having certain weighing or measuring equipment passed as fit for use for trade by inspectors of weights and measures and for the adjustment by them of weights and measures.

Additionally, the Rule makes provision for an increase in the fees previously prescribed under the Weights and Measures (Passing as Fit for Use for Trade and Adjustment Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 (S.R. 2007 No. 125) by an average of 3.3%.
