FINANCE ACT 1973

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment with the consent of the Department of Finance and Personnel has made a Statutory Rule entitled the:

“Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) (Verification Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 (S.R. 2009 No. 67)”.

The Rule, which comes into operation on 1st April 2009, is made under section 56(1) and (5) of the Finance Act 1973 and prescribes the fees to be paid in respect of EC verification under the Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) Regulations 1988 (S.I. 1988/186) and the Non-automatic Weighing Instruments Regulations 2000 (S.I. 2000/3236).

Additionally, the Rule makes provision for an increase in the fees previously prescribed under the Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) (Verification Fees) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 (S.R. 2007 No. 124) by an average of 3.3%.
