Notice of Approval of Code of Practice and Notice of Withdrawal of Approval of Code of Practice by The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland

By virtue of Article 18(1) of the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978 (“the Order”), and after consultation in accordance with Article 18(2) of the Order, the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland has, on 24th May 2005, with the consent of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, approved the Great Britain Code of Practice entitled Control of substances hazardous to health (Fifth edition): The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (as amended): Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (L5, ISBN 0 7176 2981 3) for the purpose of giving practical guidance with respect to The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003, as amended, the approval to take effect from 1st June 2005.

Withdrawal of Approval

By virtue of paragraph (5) of Article 18 of the Order, and after consultation in accordance with that paragraph, the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland has, on 24th May 2005, with the consent of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment, withdrawn approval of the Code of Practice entitled Control of substances hazardous to health (Fourth edition): The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002: Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (L5, ISBN 0 7176 2534 6), the withdrawal to take effect from 1st June 2005.
