Group Licence for Bodies Approved for Specific Purposes
I, Ray Hall, Director of Consumer Credit and Estate Agency in the Office of Fair Trading (“The OFT”) and a member of the OFT staff, being authorised in that behalf in writing by the OFT pursuant to paragraph 12 of Schedule 1 to the Enterprise Act 2002, hereby give general notice pursuant to section 22(8) of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 that under section 22(1)(b) of that Act, the OFT has issued a group licence to the following group:
Employers who provide or make available to their employees bicycle/s and/ or bicycle safety equipment up to the value of £1000 (including VAT, and not taking into account any income tax exemption) under an employee benefit scheme designed to allow the employee to take advantage of any income tax exemption for that benefit, in particular that provided by s. 244 of the Income Tax (Earnings and Pensions) Act 2003 as amended and provided the bicycle/s and/or bicycle safety equipment are provided or made available in the manner described in the Department for Transport’s Guideleines on the Cycle to Work Scheme.
Limited to those activities carried on by employers in pursuance of their Cycle to Work benefit schemes as described above.

The licence is valid for a period of 5 years from 3rd June 2005.
