APPOINTING MONDAY, 2ND JANUARY 2006 AND MONDAY, 1ST MAY 2006 AS BANK HOLIDAYS IN ENGLAND, WALES AND NORTHERN IRELAND.

Whereas We consider it desirable that Monday, the second day of January and Monday, the first day of May in the year 2006 should be bank holidays in England, Wales and Northern Ireland:

Now, therefore, We, in pursuance of section 1(3) of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971, do hereby appoint Monday, the second day of January and Monday, the first day of May in the year 2006, to be bank holidays in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Given at Our Court at Buckingham Palace this 7th day of June in the year of our Lord two thousand and five in the fifty-fourth year of Our Reign.
